• The ASPIRA Experience: A unique journey of learning

The ASPIRA Community Charter Schools are open to any student who lives in the city of Chicago. Our schools offer a safe, inclusive and academically rigorous environment that prepares students to excel in a 21st Century landscape. ASPIRA's rich history in youth development, as well as the leadership model implemented nationally, provides our ASPIRANTES with the confidence to utilize the skills they've learned to create lasting impact in their communities, their city, the country and beyond!

    Being an ASPIRA student

    ASPIRA students will experience:

    • An academic program that, while rigorous, meets students where at their level to provide the necessary supports they need to succeed
    • Added learning time with a longer school day and a longer academic year
    • State-of-the art technology that supports collaborative and distance-learning opportunities
    • Safe spaces for students and diverse learners
    • First-generation college student supports (from the admissions process to FAFSA workshops and alumni support)
    • Parent and community services and workshops, based on the needs of the communities we serve
    • The ASPIRA Leadership Clubs
    • Extra-curricular activities and award-winning sports programs

Each ASPIRA school offers a unique approach to learning. Whether your children are entering 6th grade, their freshman year in high school, or are out-of-school youth seeking to reclaim their future by earning a high school diploma—we truly have a space for every type of learner.

Parent engagement holds the key to student success. When a young person becomes an ASPIRANTE, the family also becomes part of the ASPIRA family. Parent and family involvement is key as we work together to educate our students. Our team strives to involve parents beyond report card day. From monthly "cafecitos" to the annual Puerto Rican Parade, parents/guardians are encouraged to get involved whenever they are able. We also recognize that our families face many challenges, ranging from parents struggling to understand how to navigate their child's Individualized Education Plan (IEP), to assessing their needs for public benefits. ASPIRA's Department of Parent & Community resources can help!
