ASPIRA Early College High School will open in the fall of 2007 as the third ASPIRA School Campus. Its mission is to provide a high quality secondary education, leading to a high school diploma and dual-enrollment/ early college opportunities to Chicago’s at-risk youth. ASPIRA Early College High School will be the first early college high school in Illinois partnered with a 4 year university, Northeastern Illinois University.
Through this partnership, ASPIRA Early College will offer its students the opportunity to earn up to 2 years of college credits.
Because Northeastern Illinois University’s El Centro campus is located in the same building as the early college, the students will have easy access to college courses: taught by college professors and attended by college students. By creating this dual enrollment program we can ensure that all students graduate from the early college prepared to successfully complete college level work.

- Provide a rigorous academic curriculum to all students
- Intensive support to ensure successful completion of high school and college work
- Internship opportunities
- Low teacher: student ratio within a small school learning environment
- Low academic advisor: student ratio
- Technology rich learning environment
- Project based learning and constructivist learning approaches
- Wrap around services to support student academic success
- Established partnerships with Alternative School Network, City Colleges of Chicago, Jobs for the Future and Northeastern Illinois University
- Dual enrollment and early college credit opportunities
- ASPIRA Clubs which develop student leadership, community and cultural awareness
