The mission of ASPIRA-Haugan Charter Middle
School is to provide a small school environment
that will prepare middle school students to
meet the challenges of a high school preparatory
curriculum and become successful productive
lifelong learners.

One School: Two Academies
The Math & Science Academy will
engage students in a hands-on self-discovery
curriculum to lead them to investigate the
world around them. Students will take exploratory
studies in art, music, culture, world language,
library science, physical education and health.
This project-based learning core curriculum
includes: NASA-Mars Rocket Project, Science
Fairs, Chicago River Wetlands Program, and
the Algebra Project. All students benefit
from a holistic personalized learning plan
(PLP).
The Computer Science & Technology Academy
will provide students with a technology-rich
and nurturing environment. Students engage
in the learning process through a variety
of hands-on projects. State certified teachers
facilitate learning and teach students lifelong
learning. Students become prepared to deal
with the wealth of information in the world
and learn how to communicate effectively and
contribute to society. Student success is
measured by the ability to communicate with
global society.
